I keep missing face to face friday so have invented moon face monday and now also significantly-smaller-skull saturday. the photo on the left was from my wedding day on 8 june 2019. despite being at by far my heaviest weight i’d ever been i still felt beautiful and it was the best day of my life (moon head and all. on the right is today. i’m 3.5 weeks post op and have so far lost about 12.5 kilos. apparently all from my head and shoulders ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผ‍โ™€๏ธ #significantlysmallerskullsaturdays ๐ŸŒผ

My diet- before i started vs now

i get a lot of questions on what i eat, how i made changes, how i started and i thought i will make an elaborate igtv video explaining all of that but here are some of the key points:

1๏ธโƒฃ breakfast
before- i started my day with 4 slices of bread with butter (not kiddin about this) and a glass of whole milk.
now- a healthy satisfying breakfast is what it takes to set the tone of the day. i usually either have overnight oats, omelette, avocado toast, chocolate protein waffles, french toast, poha, upma or a combination of these with a glass of warm water with acv and @tropeaka greens.
2๏ธโƒฃ snacks
before- i snacked on @traderjoes ginger cookies or their fig bars or @nature_valley granola bars. no offense but these are simply carb bombs with very little to no protein content. result- i was often hungry, and craving for more sugary treats.
now- i snack on fresh fruits, veggies (carrots, celery, cucumbers with hummus are my go-to), greek yogurt (i love @oikosprotein ), bars like @squareorganics, @rxbar, @perfectbar, or my own protein balls.
3๏ธโƒฃ lunch
before- my lunch used to be an indian curry with two chapatis, a banana or a seasonal fruit.
now- my lunch is similar except i try to consciously add some vegetarian proteins such as tofu, tempeh, chickpeas, beans of all kinda, quinoa, amaranth etc to my curries.
4๏ธโƒฃ dinner
before- i used to have very heavy and late dinners.
now- my dinners are usually light, salad/grain bowls, @eatbanza pasta with homemade spinach pesto sauce and loads of veggies, quinoa khichdi, cauliflower fried rice, an omelette and bowl of greek yogurt with fresh berries on top. again, i prioritize high quality carbs, proteins, fibers and fats.
5๏ธโƒฃ water
before- i would drink <2 l water daily.
now- i try to have at least 2.5-3.5l water everyday.
6๏ธโƒฃ probiotics
before- i hardly knew about probiotics and how they are super important for your gut health.
now- i have probiotics in the form of homemade kombucha (2-3 times a week), sauerkraut on my salads, and yogurts everyday.
