how to stop night time snacking🤷🏽♀️
part 1 - comment if you want part 2 💪🏽 1️⃣ eat a balanced diet throughout the day. if you find that you are sneaking to the cupboard for a snack at midnight, it may be a result of not eating enough during the day. make sure you’re eating meals throughout the day to keep you fuelled - i aim to get protein/fats/carbs/fibre throughout the day. if you know you are usually peckish after dinner, save a snack for after. i love strawberries as my after dinner “dessert,” protein mousse or low cal jelly 🍓
2️⃣ stay hydrated 💦 it is not uncommon to mistake thirst for hunger. i know i get peckish if i am not drinking enough water in the day. you could also try a tea after dinner to curb cravings or a low cal/protein hot choc 🍫
3️⃣ remove or replace snack foods in your home. in most cases, people go for carbohydrate-rich or “comfort” foods when snacking late at night. 🌟 getting rid of these types of food or replacing them with healthy options can help curb your snacking habit. “if i want something, i can have an apple.” 🍏 you may find that given the option between a piece of fruit and not having anything that you realize you aren’t actually hungry 🤭 where as if it’s oreos on the shelf - you’d probably dive straight in haha i know, i’ve been there!! 🙈 try donating any foods that you don’t feel helps you on your journey - i know nut butters are my weakness so i choose not to have them in the house 🏡 4️⃣ distract yourself. if you get up to have a snack at midnight, stop & recognize what you are about to do - count down from 10 and slow yourself down! if you still want to hit the kitchen, try distracting yourself with another activity and then reassess if you really want a snack after 20 minutes. to distract yourself, try brushing your teeth, taking a walk, listening to soft music, reading a book or talking to family or your partner 💕

going to the gym is a hobby for me, i love it 😍 but when it comes to nutrition & prepping for the @wbff_aust in under 5 weeks - i definitely have highs & lows ☺️ i love the days where i truly struggle because without them, i wouldn’t appreciate the high days 🙌🏽
tips for staying on track with nutrition 🍎
1️⃣ #oxyshred first thing in the morning and later in the day as soon as you start craving something 💯
2️⃣ eat foods that you can have in volume that are lower calorie foods like pumpkin, cauliflower, berries & broccoli🥦
3️⃣ drink water 💦 i drink 3-4l a day. i swear i feel more hungry on the days i drink less water 😅
4️⃣ find lower cal options for things you’re craving. eg if you want chocolate mousse- try making my berry choc protein mousse (recipe on my youtube vlogs) 🎥
5️⃣ if you are hungry after dinner or getting cravings - try a tea or brush your teeth ✔️
6️⃣ remember your goals and why you are doing this 😊 you have got this!!

For months , i’ve cut down white carbs:
- simple sugar ( no soda or sweetened drinks , sinful deserts once a week, coffee with no sugar)
- rice (all rice servings strictly during lunch and reduced to half)
- bread ( only sourdough, no whites)
result? a virtuous cycle!
gives me more energy to dance, yoga , gym which gets me the body i’m aiming for! a sustainable one :)

Why hiit?! there are many reasons, but time and the ability to do it anywhere with little to no need for equipment, is why so many people turn to short bursts of high intensity interval training sessions!
a quick, 30 minute hiit sesh can be any type of workout you love. this morning, i chose kickboxing on the heavy bag with 30 second bursts of movement, followed by a 30 sec break. 🥊
you will not only burn a ton of calories during a hiit workout, but you will continue to burn calories after the workout as your body replaces energy and repairs muscle! (side note...this is also why we should consume quality protein post-workout...but that’s for a different segment😉).
caution: hiit can put a lot of stress on the body, so 2-3 times max per week is ideal. give yourself a rest/lighter day in between (or use different muscles the following day) to allow muscle repair. 👊
